About

Welcome to A Sacred Way. This is a blog following my journey along the Dedicant Path of Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship (ADF). I joined ADF in March 2013 and this blog will be a journal for my meditations, essays and other work along the way. Following the  book “Dedicant Path through the year,” I will post my answers to each of the exercises in the book and appreciate everyone’s comments. I will be deviating a little from the order in the book because I have started this at a time which doesn’t fit completely with the timetable of the high days in the book and therefore will change things slightly. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I hope it is an enjoyable and educational experience.

Hi there!

I don’t know if here is the right place to ask, but I was wondering if being a naturalist was at any point a barrier to joining ADF? I ask because I’ve been looking at their DP course too but am also a non-theist.

It isn’t a barrier to joining but I personally took a long time to decide whether or not to join because I’m a naturalist. In the end I decided it was worth trying for one year and seeing if I could learn anything new. I think having structure and requirements is good and pushes me. I have found the requirement to spend an hour per week in nature to be invaluable.
